Yesterday was one of the most awesome days ever! Leo started T-Ball practice! I apologize for not keeping everyone up to date here, but you better believe there will be MANY more blogs to come! For now, enjoy the pictures.

About time for an update

Wow... where has the time gone? So much has happened since Thanksgiving.

Christmas was great. The kids got so many gifts it was insanity. We actually had to wake up the kids to open their presents. Except Abby, she was already awake. I love our living alarm clock. After the kids opened up all of their gifts we ended up going up to my parents house to open up even more presents! INSANITY!

Unfortunately, we also received a phonecall that Grandma Sylvia had fallen in her new nursing home. She had a lot of broken bones including her hip, shoulder and God knows what else. Erik and I had to leave the kids without a second thought with my parents just a couple days after Christmas to fly out to California to be with the family. It was so hard to leave them, but our family needed us more. Grandma needed us more. Grandma ended up going through surgery, and made it through with flying colors. Erik and I felt it was time for us to go home to be with the kids. Grandma did pretty well for about a week. We're all still grieving, still miss her very much, but she has now left this world to join Grandpa Leo. I felt so honored to have been able to have been given the opportunity to call her my Grandmother, to carry her casket to her final resting place, and to continue to love and cherish her memory. I could write for days about how fantastic that woman was.

In about a month, Erik and I were in California 3 times. Two of those times it was on not the best circumstances, but the third time we went out we were able to spend some time with my Grandmother, my brother, his fiance (YAY, a future sister!), and my amazingly beautiful nephew. We still don't know what to do with ourselves whenever we go out there to visit. Our time has always been consumed with spending as much time as possible with Grandma Sylvia. Man, even typing about her is bring me to tears. I can't believe she's gone.

So, let's jump forward to now... It's the end of February! Where'd the time go? Seriously.

I started cloth diapering Leo and Abby a few months back, sewing my own cloth diapers (special thanks to my grandparents for being so gracious with their sewing machine), and recently I've started making Abby some clothes. I'm so confident in what I've made, I've even started taking orders! Can you believe that? I can't. I have 2 friends so far that like what I've made so far for Abby that they've asked me to make dresses for their daughters. I feel so honored. Maybe someday I can turn it into a real business, until then, I'm having fun with it!

My brother, Chris (the oldest brother), and his fiance Ashley (WOOHOO, ANOTHER sister on the way) have set their date to be married... They're crazy, it's only 2 months away! I was asked the biggest honor by Ashley. She asked me to be a Bridesmaid. I was so excited, I must have done the happy dance for days. What a privilege and honor it is to be able to stand by both of them during the first day of their married life. They've also decided to get married at the same place Erik and I got married at. Could it get any better? I'm so excited to see how they transform the place into their dream wedding. I can't wait to be there!

So, now with the kids. Chloe is amazing! She's the best big sister to Leo and Abby. She is such a great young lady. I don't know where I would be without her. She brings such joy to the day.

Leo... well, he's a 2 year old boy! He started refusing his naps, and he won't sleep at night. I'm at a loss. Love the kid to pieces though. He's been teaching Abby how to pull the books off the bookshelf, empty the toybox, throw things, and just get into trouble. I guess that's what big brother's do. :) It's annoying, but cute at the same time.

Abby is SO SO SO cute. She's almost walking. She can stand and take a few steps if we make her, but she doesn't really "want" to. She's talking, saying, "uh-oh", "hi", "mama", "daddy", and "eo-eo-eo" which I can only assume means "Leo".

Gosh, I think that's about it for now. I will have to come back on later tonight and add some pictures. Kids are now awake from their naps, done with their snacks and it's time to work on our colors and numbers!

Thanksgiving

We have so much to be thankful for. We have amazing family, extended family, kids, pup, a roof over our heads, great food, steady work, great friends, and our health. We've had a lot of things happen this year, both good and bad and Thanksgiving helps me reflect on all the great things that have happened, and make light of the bad. We have welcomed our little Abigail this year, as well as our nephew Jr, and our new baby cousin Sophia. We have also lost this year, and for my uncle, I am thankful to have had him in my life for the past 29 years, and even though I didn't get to spend enough time with him I loved him very much and will miss him.

Thanksgiving was a great day, and NO FAMILY DRAMA! We had some awesome, juicy, butter basted turkey, home made stuffing, cranberry sauce, gravy, homemade mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, carrots, rolls, pumpkin pie and pecan pie. I can't speak for everyone else, but it was so delicious, and I over-ate by a lot! Here's some pictures, as usual. For those that weren't there for Thanksgiving, we were thinking of you, and missed you bunches!

This Week

We had a very eventful week. From welcoming our new nephew, Nicholas Jon Czernek Jr on Oct 27th, our new cousin, Sophia Michelle Kuras on Oct 22nd, my brother getting a promotion (the day after welcoming the new baby), everyone being sick, my dad's birthday, Halloween, a 5k walk and soccer. It's been great! Abigail is starting to scoot backwards now. I think she'll be crawling within the next few weeks. Leo is going through his TERRIFIC 2's. Neither of them are going to sleep easily or staying asleep all night. I just bought a book that came highly recommended to help combat these sleep problems. So... within the next 2 weeks, I'm hoping to have at least 1 good night's sleep. :) We shall see.

The Weekend's Just Begun

We've had amazing weather since Erik came back home from his 10 day work trip. I'm so excited to have him home. So are the kids!! We've been having so much fun playing outside and spending time all together as a family, and getting eaten alive by mosquitoes.

Ah.. The bug family...WARNING TOO MUCH INFORMATION! :)

How many gross bugs are out there? Let me tell you about 2 not so fun little pests I've gotten to come across this year... The first one HEAD LICE! Those little buggars are such a pain in the rear. You see your kid scratch their head and your heart sinks to your toes. NOOOOOO!!!! Creepy, crawly, itty bitty little annoying bugs! Now, I hate bugs, but this is just one of the few that cross the line. Everytime I hear the word, "Lice", my head itches. No, I don't have bugs. Yes, I know I don't have bugs because I have treated my own head after we've had recurrence after recurrence. We got our first occurrence last year when Chloe was in school, and yet again at the beginning of this school year, and finally over the weekend I saw scratching again.. Treated, de-bugged, de-nit, de-egg and away we go again. Just when I think we're free of bugs, you'll never in a million years (unless I've spoken to you within the past 6 hours) guess what we were blessed to come across next. PINWORMS. Dude, really? If you don't know what these are, let me just nicely say they're little (maybe 1/4 of an inch), white, threadlike little worms that hang out in... your butt! Oh the joy! Kids get this bug from playing in dirt. So, now the question, how did Leo get this bug when he doesn't play in the dirt? Great, let's just treat the whole family! This new, not so welcome and short lived, visitor to our home is causing Leo to wake up at night with an itchy butt. Now, all day, we have a sleepy mommy that's paranoid of what kind of gross creepy bug will come our way next. Erik has been gone since last Tuesday morning and he'll be home in 3 days. Thank goodness! Lucky him got to miss all the excitement of bugs, staying up all night, waking up at 6AM (even on the weekends), and dealing with a house full of crazy, cranky people... and the bugs!

Oh wait, it gets just a little better. My mom called me today to tell me that they have been exposed to the H1N1 virus at work. Time to go hide in a corner and say a little prayer that everyone comes out of this year happy and healthy.

I love days where there's no school and I can have some quality time with my Chloe. We got to bake some brownies and cookies. Actually, Chloe made it all by herself, and with very little mess! YAY! I'll post some pictures as soon as the site lets me. She's such a great young lady, big sister and my little partner in crime. ;) LOVE HER! Maybe I'll even let her stay up a little too late tonight to paint fingernails.
